This is what I call dedication... 35 yrs of time devoted to building this with toothpicks!!!! How can people be so gifted... while i can barely put together a star with my toothpicks....

Arcadia

Yuzi Paradise / The Hotel of Modern Art

This would be what i expect Arcadia / 世外桃源 to look like......The combination of a park filled with modern arts and luxurious accommodation by Relais & Châteaux. Located in Guilin (桂林), China, this is definitely a Paradise. Although i m far from being an artist, i can still appreciate the design of this paradise. The design of the rooms are simple yet stylist, perfect example of Modern Art's clean cuts. But the most intriguing element to me is the dining area, one of which is located in a cave as seen above.

Thing: Beware the Material World at the Art Gallery of Western Australia

I have to admit that i don't know how to appreciate art....but these items are kinda fun! Christian de Vietri's Configuration 3 takes a whole new meaning to IKEA products.....and i m sure we can all put together something like Tejo Remy's Rag chair. But i guess that's what makes a designer/artist....when u have the ability to think of the unthinkable.

And then there's Jeroen Verhoeven's Cinderella table...which caught me eye becoz of its name...but then i read how he uses a computer to generate the 3-D design to manipulate the wood and then hand finishes it (or somewhere along the line).......... This is when i wish i have the artistic gene in me!!!
